Ben Wolin has over 30 years of work experience, with their most recent role being Vice President of Software Engineering at PrimePay since April 2021. In this role, they are responsible for delivering architectural vision, product direction, and managing local and remote development teams.
Prior to that, from November 2009 to April 2021, Ben worked as Vice President of Engineering at SyncHR. Ben joined the company shortly after its founding and played a key role in hiring and leading the US Engineering and Operations teams. Ben also worked closely with the CTO to set technology strategy and develop core processes.
Before SyncHR, Ben was the founder of Pluq, a startup providing a web-based collaboration service for consumers. As the founding CTO from July 2007 to November 2009, they were involved in all aspects of the startup, including product design, architecture, project scheduling, operations, and fundraising.
From September 2003 to June 2007, Ben worked as the Director of Engineering at Bricsnet, where they were responsible for release planning, project management, design, implementation, and quality assurance for the Building | Center application. Ben also sourced and managed a team of 10 engineers.
Prior to that, Ben worked at Commerce One from March 1998 to February 2002 as a Software Architect. Ben developed an architecture and data model for content syndication across marketplaces and designed technologies for product catalog management and supply chain integration. Ben also developed a statistical product categorization methodology.
Ben's career started at Xerox in March 1989, where they held various roles until February 1998.
Overall, Ben has a diverse background in software engineering and leadership roles, with experience in SAAS payroll and financial services, HR and payroll systems, web-based collaboration services, building applications, and supply chain integration.
Ben Wolin attended the University of Rochester from 1992 to 1995, where they obtained an MBA in Finance/Marketing. Prior to that, they studied at the Rochester Institute of Technology from 1984 to 1989, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
