Hernan Carlos Basso

Hern Kim has extensive experience as a medical device design consultant. Hern has worked at various companies, including HERNETICS, LLC, since 2007, where they specialize in the rapid development of Class I/II/III medical devices. Their expertise includes front-end concept development, ergonomic study, mechanical features, prototyping/design validation, and full-scale manufacturing. Hern has designed various medical devices such as catheter delivery/control systems, dental devices, ergonomic handhelds, surgical robotics, imaging systems, medical carts, and lab benchtop equipment.

In addition to their work at HERNETICS, LLC, Hern also holds prominent positions in other companies. Since 2020, they have been serving as the Chief Design Officer at EZ Scope. Prior to that, they worked as a medical device consultant at Transmural Systems, NorthEast Monitoring Inc., PathMaker Neurosystems Inc., Cytrellis Biosystems, Inc., TransMedics, Inc., and Corindus Vascular Robotics.

Furthermore, Hern has also served as a medical device consultant at Cision Vision starting from 2022. Hern previously worked as a medical device consultant at Johns Hopkins Medicine - Neurotology and Skull Base Surgery from 2017 to 2021.

Hern Kim has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design from the Wentworth Institute of Technology. Before attending Wentworth Institute of Technology, Hern Kim studied at Boston University in the College of Engineering. Additionally, Hern Kim attended the Bronx High School of Science.
