Adrian Pope's work experience includes:
- CTO & Co-Founder at Primordial Labs since April 2021. Primordial Labs is developing Scipio, a tactical AI assistant for drones that reduces the cognitive load on pilots through machine learning.
- Senior Artificial Intelligence Research Engineer at Lockheed Martin from April 2017 to April 2021. Adrian led the development of a fully autonomous F-16 virtual pilot that defeated an F16 Weapons School Instructor in a head-to-head match up. Adrian also led the technical development of a cognitive Electronic Warfare (EW) system and developed collaborative autonomy algorithms, conducted simulations and flight tests on a swarm of fixed-wing SUAS.
- Artificial Intelligence Research Engineer at Lockheed Martin from February 2015 to April 2017. Adrian developed and flight tested AI/ML system prototypes on SUAS, including Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) and activity detection, processing of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery, and RF signal identification. Adrian also developed and maintained a command and control API for SUAS.
- Electromechanical Technician at RITCO from July 2013 to January 2015.
- Optimization Engineer at First Solar from July 2011 to June 2013. Adrian contributed to the development of a utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) power plant electrical design tool, conducted feasibility studies and developed optimization strategies. Adrian also contributed to the development of utility-scale PV power plants and power electronics specifications.
- R&D Electrical Engineer at AQS, Inc. from October 2010 to July 2011. Adrian developed prototypes for SBIR contracts and designed a microcontroller-based tamper detection system.
- Firmware QA Engineer at Silicon Image from October 2010 to April 2011.
Adrian Pope has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Physics from UC Santa Barbara. They also hold a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering from San Jose State University.
