Michael Anderson is an experienced HR leader with a strong background in talent acquisition and organizational strategy. Currently serving as the Head of HR Strategy & Talent Acquisition at Principal Financial Group since July 2012, Michael leads the global HR strategy and talent acquisition functions for a Fortune 500 company. Previous roles at Principal Financial Group include Head of Talent Acquisition and Director of Talent Acquisition, where Michael enhanced talent management practices and oversaw executive recruitment. Earlier experience includes positions at The Myers-Briggs Company and Hogan Assessment Systems, providing talent management consulting and leading client research teams. Michael's military background includes service as a Specialist in both the US Army and the Iowa National Guard. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from The University of Tulsa, a Master’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Iowa.
