Carlos Bicho

Carlos Bicho has over 20 years of work experience in engineering roles. Carlos started their career as a Senior Structural Engineer and Project Manager at TAL Projecto. Carlos then worked at National Oilwell Varco as a Senior Structural Engineer and later as the Manager of the Structural Engineering Department. Their responsibilities included managing a team, implementing quality systems, and ensuring timely execution of department activities. Following that, they joined Vestas as a Manager and then Director of Engineering. In these roles, they contributed to the company's engineering projects. Most recently, Carlos worked at HAMON as the EMEA Head of Engineering, where they reported directly to the Group COO and was responsible for establishing and managing the Engineering Cluster in Lisbon. Carlos also oversaw engineering activities and projects execution, developed department strategies, and managed project interactions. Carlos is currently employed as the Manager of Engineering at Principle Power.

Carlos Bicho has an education history that includes degrees and certifications in various fields. Carlos attended Instituto Superior Técnico from 1995 to 2000, where they obtained an MSc. in Civil Engineering. In 2016, they pursued executive education at INDEG-ISCTE Executive Education and completed an Executive MBA program. In 2018, Carlos attended HEC Paris for a program in Advanced Management Topics, focusing on Business Administration and Management.

In addition to their degrees, Carlos has obtained several certifications. In 2002, they obtained the Chartered Civil Engineer certification from the Portuguese Engineers Association. Carlos has also completed various certifications related to leadership and management, including "Leading Others" from the Leadership Pipeline Institute in 2018, and certifications in decision making, negotiating, project management, coaching, team management, team leadership, performance appraisal, goal setting, and time management from Harvard Business Publishing between 2015 and 2016. Carlos also holds a certification in Oil & Gas Drilling from the International Association of Drilling Contractors, obtained in 2016.
