Briana Gooden possesses extensive experience in animal care and research support, currently serving as a NIMH Research Support Specialist II at Priority One Services since April 2021. Prior to this role, Briana worked as a Veterinary Technician II and an Animal Technician at Bioqual, Inc. from June 2018 to April 2021, and as an Assistant Lab Animal Technician at the University of Maryland from June 2016 to June 2018, focusing on the care of various research animal colonies. An internship as an Animal Keeper at The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore allowed Briana to care for diverse species while assisting with daily keeper responsibilities. Additionally, a Crane Intern position at the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center involved hand-rearing whooping crane chicks for wild release. Briana holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, Care and Management from the University of Maryland, obtained in 2018.
