Chief Executive Officer at Priory

Rebekah Cresswell has held various leadership roles in the healthcare and social care sectors. Rebekah started their career as a Health Visitor at North Mersey Community NHS Trust in 1998. Rebekah then moved to Manchester PCT, where they served as a Health Visitor and Team Leader from 2000 to 2003. From 2003 to 2005, they worked as a Professional Development Nurse in Health Visiting at NHS Stockport PCT.

At NHS Stockport PCT, Rebekah also held the position of Sure Start Business Manager from 2005 to 2006, where they were responsible for the strategic, operational, and financial management of the Sure Start Programme. Rebekah later became the Head of Governance & Quality Improvement at NHS Stockport PCT from 2006 to 2008, leading a team that implemented lean methodology and delivered quality improvements.

In 2008, Rebekah joined NHS Northwest Strategic Health Authority as an Assistant Director of Clinical Quality & Patient Safety. In this role, they provided strategic management and system oversight for all NHS providers and commissioners in Greater Manchester. Rebekah also served as the Northwest policy lead for Child Safeguarding, CQC, and CQUIN.

Following their time at NHS Northwest Strategic Health Authority, Rebekah joined Priory, where they held various executive positions. Rebekah started as the Director of Quality (Healthcare) from 2012 to 2016. Rebekah then became the Group Director of Performance & Regulation from 2017 to 2018, with responsibility for regulatory performance, quality monitoring, safeguarding, and driving improvement across mental health hospitals, schools, and supportive living homes.

Their most recent role at Priory was as the Chief Operating Officer of Priory Adult Care from 2018 to 2021. In this role, Rebekah provided operational and strategic leadership to a large division of adult social care services across the UK. Rebekah focused on ensuring the provision of high-quality person-centered care, strong governance, optimal financial performance, and exceeding regulatory requirements.

Rebekah is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Priory, a position they assumed in November 2021.

Rebekah Cresswell earned a Bachelor of Nursing Degree (Hons) with a focus on Adult Nursing and Health Visiting from the University of Liverpool from 1994 to 1998. Rebekah later pursued an MA Health Services Management with a specialization in Quality Improvement and Strategic Management at Alliance Manchester Business School from 2004 to 2008.
