Paul Starrett, CFE, EnCE has extensive work experience in the fields of cybersecurity, risk management, and data protection. Paul began their career in 1999 as an InfoSec Engineer at RSA Security, where they programmed and tested web-based digital-signature servers and encryption, access/authentication and data integrity applications. Paul then moved on to Starrett Consulting, Investigative, Legal and Security Consultant in 2003, where they worked as an Investigator and Consultant, performing fraud, identity theft, breach of fiduciary duty, tax matters, workers’ compensation, e-commerce and other business and commercial liability investigations. In 2005, they became a Senior Consultant at a Big Four Consulting Firm, where they were responsible for financial investigations and e-discovery. Paul then joined Stratify in 2006 as a Project Manager, handling all aspects of investigations and e-discovery for over forty-five large, multi-million dollar cases. In 2010, they returned to Starrett Consulting as an Attorney and Consultant, assisting and managing client investigations, legal consulting and case management. In 2012, they became General Counsel (initially Chief Global Risk Officer/Counsel) at UBIC, North America, Inc., where they managed the development of global data-analytics’ applications and workflows of computer-forensics, artificial intelligence and e-Discovery departments. In 2015, they founded PrivacyLabs, a firm specializing in enterprise solutions for privacy, data-protection technology, risk management, and cybersecurity solutions. In 2021, they joined EalaX as an Advisor for Strategy, Risk, and Go-To-Market.

Paul Starrett, CFE, EnCE has an extensive educational background. Paul obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Communication and Media Studies from USNY in 1998, followed by a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Tax Law/Taxation from Golden Gate University in 2005. In 2014, they completed their Master's Degree in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications, such as the Certified Fraud Examiner (2008) from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), the EnCE - EnCase Certified Computer Forensics Examiner (2011) from Guidance Software, and the AWS Certified Security Professional - Specialty Course (2020) from A Cloud Guru. Paul has also obtained certifications from OneTrust, such as the OneTrust Fellow of Privacy Technology (2021) and the OneTrust Certified Privacy Professional (2021). In addition, they have completed courses from BigID and Xilinx.
