Thomas Headstream, MD, is the Chief Executive Officer of Privia Medical Group — West Texas, and has over 35 years of experience in internal and critical care medicine.

For more than 20 years, Dr. Headstream served asthe President of Abilene Diagnostic Clinic PLLC (now Privia Medical Group — West Texas) and continues to serve as the President of West Texas Health PLLC, a member of Privia Medical Group — West Texas. He also serves as the Medical Director for the intensive care unit of Hendrick Medical Center South, formerly Abilene Regional Medical Center. Prior to his current role, Dr. Headstream was a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at LSU Shreveport.

Dr. Headstream was the co-founder and President of one of West Texas' first large independent physician associations, Abilene Physicians Network, PA. Dr. Headstream has also served as chairman or chief of multiple hospital departments at Abilene Regional Medical Center, now Hendrick Medical Center South, and at HealthSouth, now Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Abilene. He formerly served on the Board of Abilene Regional Medical Center, and on the Boards of Medical Edge Inc., a 400+ member multi-specialty physician group, and of AdvancePCS, a pharmaceutical benefit management company. He also served on the Community Health Systems (CHS) ACO executive committee in Texas.

Dr. Headstream received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School.
