C. Daniel Wagner has a diverse work experience that spans over several decades. C. Daniel began their career as an Emergency Medical Technician at Pro EMS from 1991 to 1996. C. Daniel then worked as a Police Dispatcher at the Cambridge Police Department from 1996 to 1998. Subsequently, they served as a Police Officer at the same department from 1998 to 2006, where they established the capacity to investigate computer crime. From 2006 to 2009, Wagner took on the role of Project Manager, overseeing the design and construction of a new police headquarters. C. Daniel also managed the technology systems for this project.

From 2006 to 2010, Wagner held the position of Neighborhood Community Policing Sergeant, where they proposed and led a task force that successfully investigated a regional pattern of housebreaks. C. Daniel then became a Patrol Supervisor, and in this role, they initiated a reform of the performance management system for line officers, which later became a department-wide model. Following this, from 2010 to 2013, Wagner served as the Commanding Officer of the Tactical Patrol Force, where they developed strategies to ensure public safety during civil unrest situations.

From 2010 to 2015, they worked as the Neighborhood Community Policing Lieutenant, overseeing community outreach in high-crime areas. From 2010 to 2018, Wagner held the position of Commanding Officer, Crime Analysis Unit, where they managed the unit responsible for identifying and analyzing intelligence and crime patterns. C. Daniel also developed tactics and strategies to respond to crime. In 2018, they became the Deputy Superintendent, Procedural Justice Section, at the Cambridge Police Department, leading the formation of the Office of Rights and Liberties and developing an interactive dashboard for public access to demographic data on police-citizen interactions.

Wagner also participated in various professional programs during their career. C. Daniel was selected as a Law Enforcement Advancing Data and Science Scholar by the National Institute of Justice from 2018 to 2022. Additionally, they served as an Executive Fellow at the National Policing Institute from 2015 to 2022.

In 2022, Daniel Wagner transitioned to the role of Chief Executive Officer at multiple organizations, including Pro EMS, AIM Training Academy, Prodigy EMS, and Pro-Ems Center for Medics.

C. Daniel Wagner has a diverse education history that spans several institutions. In 2006, they completed the First Line Supervisor Command Training program at Roger Williams University. The following year, in 2007, Wagner attended the Massachusetts Police Leadership Institute at Lowell, where they completed a Leadership Program. In 2012, they attended the Harvard Kennedy School for an Executive Seminar on Driving Government Performance. Subsequently, from 2013 to 2014, Wagner pursued studies in Criminal Justice Administration as a student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Finally, in 2015 and 2016, they attended the Harvard Kennedy School again, this time earning a Master's in Public Administration with a Certificate in Management, Leadership, and Decision Sciences.
