Julia McDowell possesses a diverse background in emergency medicine and education, currently serving as a Park Ranger and Paramedic with the National Park Service since July 2023. With experience as a Paramedic at Pro EMS since May 2022 and as a Paramedic Instructor at Pro-Ems Center for Medics, Julia has demonstrated expertise in emergency medical care. Previous roles include Emergency Medical Technician at PROFESSIONAL AMBULANCE AND OXYGEN SERVICE, INC, where skills in patient assessment and care were honed, and Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at Tufts University, providing support to a large student body in complex programming concepts. Early career experiences include roles as a Lifeguard and Camp Counselor, showcasing leadership and program design abilities, along with administrative skills as a Front Desk Receptionist at Verge Yoga. Julia holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Tufts University and a Paramedic certification from Pro EMS Center for Medics.

Pro EMS
Pro EMS has served the City of Cambridge, Massachusetts since 1969, providing 911 emergency medical services in cooperation with the Cambridge Fire, Police and Emergency Communications Departments. Additionally, we provide emergency medical services to Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Pro EMS partners with Emerson Hospital to provide advanced life support (ALS) services to the communities of Boxborough, Carlisle, Concord, Lincoln, Maynard, Stowe and Weston, collectively known as the Central Middlesex Emergency Response Association (CMERA), operating under the Emerson Paramedics brand. Primary backup services are provided to the towns of Watertown and Belmont. Pro EMS also works with several related entities. Pro EMS Center for Medics, a CoAEMSP accredited paramedic and EMS training center, Prodigy, a CAPCE accredited online learning management system and Pro EMS Solutions, our EMS reimbursement, technology and administrative services division. We’ve been recognized by numerous state and national organizations for our commitment to excellence. Pro EMS was the first ambulance service in Massachusetts to be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) and we are current members of the Academy of International Mobile Healthcare Integration (AIMHI), a national collective of high-performance EMS systems.
