Heather McCartney, PhD, currently holds the position of Senior Analyst at Proactive Worldwide since September 2018, after serving as an Analyst. Prior experience includes a PhD Graduate Student role in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center from August 2012 to September 2018, where research focused on CRISPR/Cas9 technology to study SAN1’s role in response to interstrand cross-linking agents. Prior to that, Heather McCartney worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at Clemson University, the National Cancer Institute, and Greenwood Genetic Center, contributing to projects that included isolating spider silk proteins, developing metabolic stability prediction programs, and screening tryptophan transporters in autism spectrum disorder patients. Heather McCartney earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Cell and Developmental Biology from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Clemson University.
