Bas van Hattum has a diverse work experience that spans over several industries. Bas started their career in 1998 as a Planner at Loonbedrijf Gubbels, where they were responsible for setting up daily plans for employees and managing administrative tasks. In 2001, they joined Abemec bv as a Local Sales Tractors & Machinery, where they focused on sales. Bas then moved on to Reed Business Information in 2002 and worked as a Journalist until 2007. From 2007 to 2008, Bas worked as an After Sales Manager at Kverneland Group. In 2008, they joined Proagrica as a Chief Editor for TREKKER-Magazine, Future Farming, and Machinery@Boerderij, where they were responsible for content. In the same year, they also started working at Reed Business Media as a Journalist. Their most recent role is at Misset Uitgeverij, where they currently hold the position of Teamlead Ag Machinery and Editor In Chief.

Bas van Hattum started their education at Dr. Landmanschool, although the start and end years are not specified. After that, they attended Durendael/2College in Oisterwijk from 1987 to 1992, where they earned an Atheneum degree. Following this, they pursued Landbouwtechniek at Wageningen University & Research from 1992 to 1993.
