Don Baumgarten

Don Baumgarten has over 25 years of experience in the medical device industry. Don began their career in 1994 as a Design Engineer at Boston Scientific, where they contributed to the designs of the Rotablator and cardiac biopsy forceps catheter-based medical devices. Don then became a Product Development Manager, managing an R&D engineering group responsible for new product development, product improvements, and production line support for minimally invasive, catheter-based medical devices. In 2002, Don co-founded a four-person medical device start-up company and served as a Mechanical Engineering Consultant. Don identified unmet clinical needs and generated product ideas, and evaluated business opportunities for several medical device concepts. In 2004, Don joined Philips Oral Healthcare as an Engineering Project Manager and contributing engineer on cross-functional teams developing Class I, electro-mechanical medical devices. In 2011, they moved to Stratos Product Development as a Senior Lead Project Manager for teams developing medical devices and consumer products. Don is currently the Director of Mechanical Engineering at Product Creation Studio.

Don Baumgarten has a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington, a Master of Business Administration Core Curriculum from Seattle University's Albers School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wyoming.
