Heather O'Steen

Heather O'Steen, CAE has a diverse work experience. Heather is currently the President and Owner of Professional Management Associates, LLC since April 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Managing Partner and Chief Operating and Development Officer at the same company since January 2016. Professional Management Associates, LLC is an association management company that provides centralized office services to various trade associations and professional societies.

Before their role at Professional Management Associates, LLC, Heather worked at the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) since May 2014, initially serving in other leadership roles before becoming the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Their tenure with AAFP started in March 2008.

Additionally, Heather held positions at Professional Management Associates and the American Association of Feline Practitioners from 2008 to 2014. Heather served as the Senior Manager of Client Services and Assistant Executive Director during this time. Prior to that, they were the Manager of Public Relations and Meetings.

Heather's earlier work experience includes serving as a Social Worker, Case Manager, and Operations Manager at IHN (Interfaith Hospitality Network) in Somerset County, New Jersey. Heather managed clients in emergency shelters, transitional facilities, and permanent housing while teaching them self-sufficiency skills. Heather worked at IHN from 2003 to 2008.

Heather O'Steen, CAE, holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from the University of Delaware. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2013, they completed the Certificate Program in Association Management from ASAE University Certificate Program. Heather then went on to become a Certified Association Executive (CAE) through ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership in December 2014. Heather has also earned the 2022 Executive of the Year title from the VETERINARY MEDICAL ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVES INC in July 2022. Continuing their professional development, they obtained the Association Digital Marketing Certificate from Association Academy in December 2022 and the Association Membership Growth Certificate from the same institution in March 2023.
