Si Ying Ong

Si Ying Ong has a diverse work experience in various roles. Si Ying currently works at Proficio as a Software Developer, where they started in January 2021. Prior to this, they were a Junior Software Developer from March 2020 to December 2020. Before their role as a software developer, Si Ying worked as an Associate Threat Analyst at Proficio from March 2019 to March 2020. In this role, they analyzed various log sources and used SIEM software to identify and investigate security threats. Additionally, Si Ying briefly worked in ServiceNow Development at Proficio from July 2019 to December 2019.

Prior to their time at Proficio, Si Ying worked at NCS Group as an Application Consultant from October 2016 to September 2018. In this role, they developed and modified codes in Java, JSP, SQR, and PL/SQL for an enterprise level application system.

Si Ying's earlier work experience includes a role as a Hostess at Crystal Pavilion Marina Production Pte Ltd from June 2014 to January 2015 and an internship at OCBC Bank as part of their Student Internship Programme for Diploma in Business from September 2013 to November 2013. In this internship, they assisted in data collection and entry to support business process improvement projects.

Si Ying Ong started their education at Seng Kang Secondary School from 2007 to 2010, where they obtained a GCE 'O' Level. Si Ying then pursued a Diploma in Business at Temasek Polytechnic, graduating in 2014. After that, Si Ying attended Murdoch University from 2014 to 2016, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Cyber Forensics, Information Security and Management, and Computer Science.

In terms of additional certifications, Si Ying obtained various qualifications. In 2018, they became certified in "IT-SO-303S-1 Perform Network Vulnerability Assessment" by Workforce Singapore, and also obtained the "Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)" certification from EC-Council. In 2020, they obtained the "Google Cloud Certified - Associate Cloud Engineer" certification from Google and also became a "Dashboard Specialist" through Si Ying Loves Data. Si Ying further expanded their certifications in 2021 by obtaining the "Forecast Foundations" certification from Si Ying Loves Data and achieving the "GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)" from GIAC Certifications. In 2022, they obtained the "Data Modelling Methodology Workshop," "Intro to Cassandra Workshop," and "Introduction to NoSQL Workshop" certifications from Badgr (now part of Instructure), as well as the "AWS Certified Developer – Associate" certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
