Reid Smith

Sr. Research Scientist - Horticulture at Profile Products

Reid Smith has a diverse work experience in the horticulture field. Reid began in 2009 at Conrad Fafard as an R&D Intern and later became a Professional Trial Coordinator from 2009 to 2011. In 2011, they interned at Marshall Tree Farm as a Horticulture Intern. In 2012, Reid joined Syngenta as a Horticultural Researcher and then transitioned to Assistant Plant Scientist from 2014 to 2016. In the same year, they joined Geo. W. Park Seed Company, Inc. as the Lead Horticulturist. Since 2017, Reid has been working at Profile Products as a Research Scientist, initially as a Research Associate and currently as a Sr. Research Scientist specializing in Horticulture.

Reid Smith started their education in 2007 at Tri-County Technical College, where they pursued a University Transfer program. Reid then transferred to Clemson University in 2008 and completed their Bachelor's of Science degree in Ornamental Horticulture in 2011. In terms of additional certifications, Reid obtained the North Carolina Pesticide Ground Applicator License (LEN) from NCDA & CS in January 2014. In January 2019, they became a Member of ASTM International. Lastly, in May 2022, Reid was recognized as a Class of 2022 Forty Under 40 by Greenhouse Product News.
