HP Du Toit

Whilst qualifying as an actuary, Mr. Du Toit worked for ten years in a number of large financial services companies gaining actuarial consulting experience. Mr. Du Toit became a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa in 2000 and is sole member of a consultancy providing independent actuarial and trustee services to a variety of pension funds and employee benefit companies. He is currently a member of the trustee boards of the PPS Investments and Coronation retirement annuity and pension and preservation funds, and the PPS Retirement Annuity Fund. He was a trustee of Profmed medical scheme between 2012 and 2019 and served as chair of its Investment Committee. He has served as a trustee of other pension funds and as a member of a number of tribunals to distribute pension fund surpluses in terms of Section 15K of the Pension Funds Act. Mr Du Toit has lectured part-time for UCT post-graduate and undergraduate actuarial science courses and is currently the Tuition Leader for the Actuarial Society of South Africa’s specialist pensions examination.
