Mark Root

Mark Root has over 29 years of experience in the insurance industry, currently serving as the Director of Claims Process at Progressive Insurance since February 2003. In this role, Mark Root sets strategic direction and designs future state processes to support critical initiatives within the Claims organization, managing areas such as first notice of loss and claims handling processes. Previously, Mark Root held various positions at Progressive Insurance, including Manager Claims Process, where responsibilities included evaluating business processes and influencing system design, and Claims Manager, overseeing a team of claim representatives and handling personnel actions. Mark Root began the career at Progressive Insurance in 1994 as Claims Team Leader after earning a degree from John Carroll University in 1992.
