Amin Islam

Amin Islam has a diverse range of work experience. Amin started their career as a Lecturer in the Department of English at National University in Bangladesh from 2002 to 2010. Amin then worked as an ESL & Life Skills Instructor at The Lower Mainland Purpose Society for Youth and Families from 2011 to 2012. Following that, they worked as a Labour Market Service Counsellor at Richmond Multicultural Community Services from 2012 to 2017, where they provided clients with employment counseling, facilitated workshops, and developed partnerships with local businesses. Amin then worked as a Career Development Officer at S.U.C.C.E.S.S. from 2017 to 2018. Amin continued their career as an Instructor of Workplace Preparation at VanWest College from 2018 to 2019, where they taught various job-related skills and connected students with employers. Amin also worked as an Employer Relations Specialist at the Immigrant Services Society of BC from 2018 to 2021, where they built partnerships with employers and successfully helped job seekers find meaningful work. Amin then worked as a Case Manager and Employment Placement Specialist at WorkBC.ca from 2019 to 2021, where they supported clients in their journey towards sustained employment. Currently, Amin serves as a Project Lead, Job Developer, and Facilitator at Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) Society, where they focus on assisting persons with disabilities in achieving their employment goals.
