Orlando Hunter

Orlando Hunter is currently a Senior Systems Consultant at Progressive IT Solutions. Orlando has extensive experience in network administration and system engineering, and has worked with many different types of computer systems. Orlando has been with Progressive IT Solutions since November 2018, and in their current role, they are responsible for resolving issues related to operational components for Local Area Networks and VLANS. Orlando also contributes to automated software deployments and works closely with customers, team members and other stakeholders to resolve system-oriented issues.

Orlando began their career in 2006 as a Network & System Administrator for Lee Financial. In this role, they were responsible for optimizing system security and performance, as well as planning and implementing upgrades to system hardware and software. Orlando ensured network, system and data availability and integrity through preventative maintenance and upgrades, and also configured, tested and maintained network equipment. Orlando made recommendations regarding infrastructure overhauls, implemented, maintained, developed and tested the installation and update of file servers, print servers and application servers in all departments, evaluated latest innovations and adopted cost-effective, useful solutions. Orlando also ensured high availability of infrastructure through enterprise-wide planning, testing, implementation and support. In addition, they managed firewall, network monitoring and server monitoring both on- and off-site, designed and implemented system security and data assurance, built and maintained a network infrastructure consisting of Windows, Linux and virtual products, communicated status updates to affected parties when issues arose, implemented network security equipment including firewalls and antivirus

Orlando Hunter holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Western Governors University and is certified by CompTIA in CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Project+, and CompTIA Security+. Orlando is also certified by Microsoft as a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).
