Kent Bates

Kent Bates, MBA, CRCM, currently serves as the Director of Compliance and Director of Regulatory Relations & Reporting at Progressive Leasing since November 2020. Prior experience includes a decade at American Express as a Regulatory Affairs Manager, where collaboration with regulators and management of compliance-related exams were key responsibilities. Bates also established and managed significant affiliate vendor contracts and developed communication strategies for regulatory training at American Express. Additional roles have included Adjunct Instructor at High Point University, public relations and media trainer at Kent Bates Media, and newsroom leader/anchor at WFMY TV, where strategic changes significantly improved viewership. Kent Bates holds an MBA from Grand Canyon University and a BA in Communications from Brigham Young University.
