Marjaana Karjalainen

Marjaana Karjalainen has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Marjaana founded Dreamex Consulting in 2014, where they provided business development and advisory services to foreign technology and software companies seeking to enter the Italian market. Marjaana later worked as a Business Development Coach at the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) starting in 2021. In the same year, they also had a temporary role as an Office Manager at Prohoc. In 2022, they became the Business Development Manager for Italy at OptInsight, a company specializing in personal data and e-consent management for pharmaceutical companies. Prior to these roles, Marjaana held positions at 3d Signals, where they served as the Business Development Manager for Italy from 2019 to 2022, and at Finpro, where they were the Head of Finpro Italy from 2009 to 2014 and had various other positions related to the software and digital media sector. Their earlier experience includes working as an Assistant Vice President at Kansallis-Osake-Pankki and as a Researcher at HKKK, where they focused on the internationalization of Finnish companies.

Marjaana Karjalainen completed their education at multiple institutions over the years. From 1982 to 1987, they attended Helsingin kauppakorkeakoulu and obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in International Business. In 1992 to 1994, they attended Fintra and obtained a Diploma in International Business Management, specializing in International Business. Later, in 1998 and 1999, they studied at LUT University where they completed an Executive Master of Business Administration (eMBA) in Managing Technology Start-ups.

In addition to their formal education, Marjaana Karjalainen also holds additional certifications. In December 2014, they became an Extended Disc Certified Consultant. Marjaana also obtained the certification of Certified Management Consultant (CMC), although the specific institution and year of obtaining this certification are unknown.
