Project AWARE (Awareness · Readiness · Ethics) is a public-interest initiative focused on making AI safety and governance operational in the Global South.

We work at the intersection of technology, policy, and institutions, translating high-level AI principles into deployable guardrails for real-world systems where capacity, enforcement, and resources are constrained.
Our work spans three core tracks:

1. Tech & Policy Research
Designing practical frameworks for institutional AI safety, including deployment governance, procurement safeguards, audit and accountability workflows, incident readiness, and grievance mechanisms.

2. Diplomacy & Advocacy
Convening closed-door roundtables and structured dialogues with governments, regulators, embassies, multilaterals, and industry to align on feasible AI safety approaches for high-adoption contexts.

3. Capacity Building
Partnering with universities, think tanks, and public institutions to strengthen institutional readiness through training, policy labs, and practitioner-focused knowledge exchange.

Project AWARE is Global South–first, implementation-driven, and institutionally grounded.
Our objective is simple: safe AI that actually works in real governance environments.
