Melissa Wijngaarden

Co-founder at Project Cece

Melissa Wijngaarden's work experience includes co-founding Impactbytes in 2022, where they focus on making it easier for businesses to find and promote sustainable products. Melissa also co-founded Project Cece in 2019, an online platform that helps consumers make fair choices by providing information about webshop certificates. In addition, Melissa serves as an Advisory Board Member for the Honours Sustainability Programme at the University of Amsterdam's Amsterdam Business School since 2020. Melissa has worked as a data analyst at Owlin from 2018 to 2019 and as an exchange student at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2017. Melissa also has experience as a Council Assistant with the Faculty Student Council at the University of Amsterdam's Faculty of Economics and Business from 2016 to 2017. Melissa is currently a Fellow of the Sigma Squared Society, starting in 2020.

Melissa Wijngaarden obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Amsterdam, where they studied from 2014 to 2018.

The goal is to have a positive impact on the fashion industry by making fair and sustainable clothing easy to find. Project Cece provides transparent information on brands and their sustainability and gives relevantinformation to make shopping sustainably easy and fun.Currently, Project Cece has dedicated websites for the Netherlands (.nl), Belgium (.be), United Kingdom (.co.uk) and Germany (.de).
