Shane Gero is a prominent scientist specializing in zoology and animal biology with extensive experience in academia and research. Currently serving as Scientist-in-Residence at Carleton University since March 2021, Shane also holds positions as an affiliated researcher and Assistant Professor at Aarhus University, where involvement began in January 2014. Additional roles include Field Biology Lead at Project CETI since June 2020 and an adjunct position at Dalhousie University since January 2017. Shane founded and serves as Principal Investigator for The Dominica Sperm Whale Project, established in 2005. A former MASTS Research Fellow at the University of St Andrews in 2013, Shane's educational background includes a PhD, MSc, and BSc from Dalhousie University, completed between 1999 and 2012, focusing on marine biology and animal biology.
