Sylvain Corlay

Sylvain Corlay is the Chief Executive Officer of QuantStack since June 2016, leading a team of maintainers for major open-source projects like Jupyter and Apache Arrow. In addition, Sylvain serves as a Software Steering Council Member for Project Jupyter, focusing on open-source scientific computing and data visualization. As a Conference Organizer and Meetup Organizer for PyData Paris, Sylvain has been instrumental in fostering a community of over 4,500 members since 2017. Sylvain is also a member of the Board of Directors for NumFOCUS, promoting innovative open-source scientific computing. Academic experience includes roles as an Adjunct Professor at Université Paris Dauphine, New York University, and Columbia University, with expertise in computational finance and programming. Sylvain holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics from Pierre and Marie Curie University, with research interests in vector quantization and option pricing.
