Gijs Jochems

Gijs Jochems has extensive experience in the biotechnology and healthcare sectors, currently serving as the General Manager for Spain and Portugal at Promega Biotech Iberica since May 2005, where responsibilities include establishing a direct sales organization in Spain and managing distributors in Portugal, with a focus on strategic leadership and coaching. Previously, Gijs held multiple positions at Baxter Healthcare from February 1997 to December 2004, including Business Unit Manager for BioScience, where coordination of sales, marketing, and logistics activities in treatment areas such as haemophilia and immune deficiencies was key, as well as National Sales Manager for Wound Management, and Marketing Manager for Hyland Immuno. Early career experience includes roles as a Primary Investigator at Pharmacia-Upjohn, leading research on stem cell growth factors, and as a Post-Doctoral fellow at Hospital de la Princesa, focusing on inflammatory reactions. Gijs holds a PhD in Experimental Immunology from the University of Amsterdam and a General Management Program degree from IESE Business School.
