Sean Caonguyen

Sean Caonguyen, MS, MLS(ASCP)CM, has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the healthcare and biosciences field. Sean currently works as a Quality Assurance Analyst at Prometheus Laboratories Inc. since March 2021. Prior to this, they were a Clinical Laboratory Scientist at Decipher Biosciences, Inc. from April 2016 to February 2021.

In addition, Sean has experience as a Data Science Apprentice at Thinkful from 2020 to 2021 and as a Business Analyst and Clinical Laboratory Scientist at Genalyte, Inc. from 2017 to 2020. Sean has also served as a Supervisor of Data Analysis and Review and a Clinical Laboratory Scientist at Millennium Health from 2013 to 2016.

Before their industry experience, Sean gained research experience as a Predoctoral Research Student at Baylor College of Medicine in 2010 and as a Graduate Research Student at California State University, Los Angeles from 2007 to 2010. Sean was also a Graduate Fellowship Scholar at NSF GK12 Fellowship Program: IMPACT-LA from 2008 to 2010.

Furthermore, Sean has had internship roles at City of Hope in 2008 as a Southern California Bioinformatics Summer Intern and at Caltech in 2007 as a Southern California Bioinformatics Summer Intern.

Sean Caonguyen has a Bachelor's Degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. Sean also holds a Master's Degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry from California State University, Los Angeles. In addition, Sean has pursued a Ph.D. in Integrative Molecular and Biomedical Science as a candidate at Baylor College of Medicine from 2010 to 2011. Furthermore, they have completed a program in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology at Eisenhower Medical Center. Sean has obtained several certifications, including "Cleaning Data in Python" from DataCamp, "PYTHON FOR DATA SCIENCE" from EMERITUS, and "Intermediate Python" from DataCamp. Sean is also certified as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Generalist) by the California Department of Public Health. Despite not having specific dates, Sean has achieved certifications such as "Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP)CM" from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), "Operational Excellence - 5S and Lean" from Asset Optimization Partners, and "Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Biotechnology" from California State University, Los Angeles. Sean has also obtained certification in "Project Management Methodology & Leadership" from S2insight.
