Kara Acevedo has extensive work experience in various financial and administrative roles. Kara currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Promise Community Health Center, where they oversee the organization's finances and prepares financial reports for the Board of Directors. Prior to this, Kara worked as the Director of Finance and Financial Specialist at the same company.

Before joining Promise Community Health Center, Kara worked at Cain Ellsworth & Co., LLP, where they started as a tax intern and eventually became a Manager and Supervisor. In these roles, they were responsible for payroll processing, payroll taxes, bookkeeping, and other small business services.

Kara also has experience as a Banquet Manager at Terrace View Event Center, an Administrative Assistant at the Chamber of Commerce, and a Student Manager at Aramark - University of South Dakota Marketplace.

Throughout their career, Kara has demonstrated expertise in financial management, reporting, and administrative support.

Kara Acevedo completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accounting at the University of South Dakota from 2009 to 2013. In 2015, they obtained a certification as a Quickbook ProAdvisor from QuickBooks ProAdvisors USA LLC.

Promise Community Health Center

Promise Community Health Center opened in Sioux Center in 2008 and operates as the only Federally Qualified Health Center serving the far northwest corner of Iowa. Promise offers medical care, prenatal care, behavioral healthcare, population health care as well as dental and vision care. Promise also offers nurse health coaching, clinical pharmacy and affordable medications, lab services and immunizations, interpretation and translation, and various other services. Promise’s outreach staff will assist you with filling out complex paperwork, help arrange for transportation or interpret for you. We help you overcome whatever barriers you may face to health care.
