Luanne Cundiff is President and CEO of First State Bank of St. Charles, MO, where she leads the bank’s staff and board of directors to better serve the financial needs of community businesses, organizations, and individuals.
Her advocacy, experience, and enthusiasm for community banking has garnered her respect amongst her peers. She has remained committed to the Missouri Bankers Association throughout her career and previously served on its Board of Directors. Cundiff is also an industry leader at the national level, previously serving on the Board of Directors of the American Bankers Association (ABA), as Chair of the ABA Community Bankers Council, and as a member of the ABA Membership Committee. As an industry advocate, she continues to participate in state and national conversations to share the impact of regulation on community banks and, more importantly, how stringent regulations affect the customers First State Bank serves.
Passionate about giving back, Cundiff has a long history of supporting her community. Her leadership and service has benefitted more than a dozen local nonprofits. Additionally, her thoughts on aligning workforce needs with economic development efforts for current and future employers in the region were crucial when serving as Chair for both the St. Charles County Workforce Development Board and the St. Charles County Economic Development Council.
Cundiff’s example of service to community is modeled by employees of First State Bank. Under her leadership, the bank has earned a reputation for supporting the communities it serves. Employee volunteer hours totaled more than 353 days with local nonprofits in 2019 and an additional 309 days in 2020 largely through virtual volunteer service needed in the local areas amid the pandemic. That spirit of commitment to exemplary service and personal contributions remains a core value of First State Bank as Cundiff and the bank team continue to give back and strengthen the communities.
