Chad Gates

CEO at Pronto Software

Chad Gates is the current CEO at Pronto Software. Chad has over 25 years of experience in the retail industry, including policy work, store operations, and IT systems management. Chad has a proven track record of success in both Australia and the United States.

Chad began their career in retail in 1993 as a Store Operations Manager for World 4 Kids, a division of Coles Myer. Chad was responsible for all front-of-house operations, including IT systems management, staff rostering and allocations, in-store promotions, and performance management. Chad was also on the specialist fit-out team for all Victorian stores. In 1995, they were awarded the first ever Victorian employee of the year award.

In 1995, Chad moved to the United States to take on the role of National Retail Manager for Successories. Chad was responsible for retail stores and operations. Chad brought the retail store concept from the US to Australia on behalf of the business.

In 1999, Chad returned to Australia to take on the role of Policy Director for the Australian Retailers Association. In this role, they managed policy issues in multiple portfolios for the retail sector, including IT policy, tenancy, and loss prevention groups. Chad worked heavily with the media across these portfolios and engaged with all levels of government to further the retail industry's profile. Chad also managed the internal IT systems of the Victorian office.

In 2005, Chad left the Australian Retailers Association to take on the role of CEO at Pronto Software. Chad has been in this role for over 15 years and has overseen the company's growth and success.

Chad Gates has a Graduate Diploma in Business Systems from Monash University and a Bachelor of Arts in English, Japanese and Economics from the same school.
