Bernard Zavala

Bernard Zavala is a seasoned cybersecurity leader with extensive experience in risk management and technical governance. Currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer at Strategic Education, Inc., they lead information security strategy for a global company. Prior to this, Zavala was the Vice President of Technical Risks at First Republic Bank, where they managed cyber risk assessments and compliance efforts. With a long tenure at the FBI as an Assistant Special Agent In Charge, they contributed to critical aspects of information security and crisis management. Zavala holds multiple degrees, including a Master of Arts in Organizational Management and a certificate in Cybersecurity Leadership from Carnegie Mellon University.
