Austin Shorter

Austin Shorter has a diverse work experience. Austin began their career as a Lab Research Assistant at The University of Alabama at Birmingham, where they supported a contract with Trelleborg AB, a polymer engineering company. Here, they were involved in various tasks such as manufacturing and verifying the quality of prototype seals, examining carbon fiber and polymer materials, and assisting in the set-up and calibration of laboratory equipment.

After that, Austin worked as an ASEE Research Paper Editor at the American Society of Engineering Education for a brief period.

Austin then transitioned to a role as a Junior Rowing Coach at Row Hunsville for a few months, before joining SLK as a Software QA Tester. At SLK, they served as a QA Engineer and was responsible for software quality assurance testing.

Most recently, Austin worked at Groupon as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer. In this role, they collaborated with the development team across multiple time zones, maintained automated test cases using Java Selenium, developed tests for the Android platform, performed functional testing across different platforms, and managed the release of the iOS application.

Throughout their career, Austin demonstrated skills in testing, quality assurance, project coordination, and team collaboration.

Austin Shorter attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham from 2012 to 2016, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Materials Engineering.
