Thomas Nonn

Director Of Computational Imaging at Proprio Vision

Thomas Nonn has extensive work experience in the field of computational imaging and computer vision. Thomas is currently the Director of Computational Imaging at Proprio, a position they have held since October 2019. Prior to that, they worked as a Software Engineer Technical Lead at MicroVision Inc. from June 2018 to September 2019.

Before joining MicroVision Inc., Thomas was the Principal Computer Vision Architect at Condition One from September 2017 to May 2018. In this role, they focused on developing and maintaining the distributed processing pipeline for stereo virtual reality content, with responsibilities that included multi-camera calibration, depth map algorithms, image stitching, image rendering, and post-filtering.

From February 2015 to August 2017, Thomas served as the Manager of Computational Imaging at Lytro. During their tenure, they managed the computational imaging team and played a key role in developing solutions for cinematic light field technology. Thomas also contributed to the development of the largest light field video camera in history. Prior to this role, they held the position of Manager of Computational Photography at Lytro, where they were responsible for managing software research and development and building the computational team for the second-generation consumer light field camera.

Thomas' early work experience includes positions at Dantec Dynamics, where they worked as an R&D Manager from September 2010 to July 2013, and as an R&D Engineer from May 1988 to September 2010. Their responsibilities at Dantec Dynamics involved planning, budgeting, and managing software, opto-mechanical, and electronic R&D projects focused on imaging and point measurement solutions for experimental flow dynamics.

Thomas Nonn attended Stuyvesant High from 1979 to 1982. Thomas then went on to study at The City College of New York from 1982 to 1990, although their degree name and field of study are unknown.
