Monica Zhang is a dedicated student currently pursuing a Bachelor of Medical Sciences at Western University, with an expected graduation in 2028. Monica has gained valuable experience as an ESSP Summer Intern at Women's College Hospital and as a participant in the Summer Mentorship Program at The Hospital for Sick Children since July 2023. As JFSS HOSA President since June 2021, Monica has demonstrated leadership within HOSA Canada, and also serves as the National Logistics Officer for Prospective Medical Professionals - PuMP. Previous experience includes a High School Internship at McMaster SynBio and a role as a Student Researcher at the University of Toronto, where Monica collaborated on a computational model related to breast cancer research. Educational background includes completing the AP Program at John Fraser Secondary School, earning the Ontario Secondary School Diploma in 2024.

Prospective Medical Professionals, or PuMP for short, is a federally registered non-profit organization dedicated to connecting Canadian high school and post-secondary students to opportunities in health sciences. Founded in 2018, PuMP aims to increase the transparency of the entry process into life science career pathways, make learning experiences in the healthcare industry more accessible for high school and undergraduate students, and promote equal opportunity for all students, no matter their socioeconomic status, gender, religion or race.
