Jonathan Viray has over 15 years of work experience in various roles related to systems administration, network management, and software programming. Jonathan started their career as a Lead GIS Analyst at King Conservation District in 2005 and later worked as a Camp Counselor at Boys & Girls Clubs of King County in 2006. In 2007, they joined Merchant e-Solutions as a Software Programmer, where they programmed custom software for credit card terminals and provided technical support. From 2008 to 2014, Jonathan worked as a Systems Administrator at Semaphore Corporation, providing support for Cisco systems, virtualization technology, and network documentation. In 2014, they joined Performance Mechanical Group and Transformative Wave as a Sr. Systems Administrator, focusing on network infrastructure design and AWS cloud implementation. Currently, Jonathan works as the Director of IoT Network Administrator at ProStar Energy Solutions, where they are responsible for providing secure solutions for centralized management of HVAC assets and building controls. Overall, their experience spans across various domains, showcasing their expertise in network administration, software programming, and system implementation.
Jonathan Viray completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Geographic Information Science and Cartography at the University of Washington from 2001 to 2005. In 2007 and 2008, they attended the Community Colleges of Spokane, focusing on Network Administration and Design. In addition to their education, Jonathan obtained several certifications, including MTCNA from MikroTik in June 2016, and various Cisco certifications such as Cisco Data Center Unified Computing Design Specialist, Cisco Unified Computing Technology Design Specialist, Cisco Unified Computing Technology Support Specialist, and CCDA. Jonathan also holds certifications from Microsoft, including MCSA: Windows Server 2012 and Microsoft Certified Professional.
