Sophina Christ, PhD has a diverse work experience in the fields of bioanalytics, scientific management, and research. Sophina is currently employed at ProtaGene as a Laboratory Manager/Group Lead Bioanalytics, where they are responsible for leading the bioanalytics team and managing client projects. Additionally, they are involved in expanding the methods portfolio for potency/binding assays. Prior to this role, they worked as a Senior Scientist and Scientist at ProtaGene, where they were involved in establishing a new binding team and developing biophysical instrumentation and ELISA assays.

Before joining ProtaGene, Sophina worked as a Doctoral Researcher at the Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT), where they completed their PhD in the field of DNA Nanostructures to Analyze Biological Systems. Sophina also gained research experience as a Research Assistant in the Group of Dr. E. Ferrari at the University of Lincoln, UK, and as a Wissenschaftliche Assistentin in the Group of Dr. K. S. Rabe at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KT), Germany, where they were involved in microbiological and genetic engineering tasks.

Sophina Christ, PhD obtained their Abitur (A-levels equivalent) from Bertha-von-Suttner-Schule Ettlingen in the year 2011. Sophina then went on to pursue their Bachelor of Science in Chemische Biologie at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) from 2011 to 2015. Building upon their bachelor's degree, they pursued a Master of Science in Chemische Biologie from KIT between 2015 and 2017. Sophina's academic journey culminated in their completion of a Doctor of Science degree in Chemie from KIT during the period of 2017 to 2020.
