James Pugh

James Pugh is currently the COO at Protagonist Pictures. James has previous experience working as the Head of Legal & Business Affairs at Protagonist Pictures Limited from January 2017 to April 2019. Prior to that, they worked as the UK Legal & Business Affairs Manager at STUDIOCANAL from November 2013 to January 2017. James is familiar with every part of the film creation and exploitation chain from development to production finance, acquisition and distribution including theatrical, digital, home entertainment and ancillary. James has particular experience in acquisition, and TV and digital sales. In their previous positions, they have dealt with related media and entertainment work including IP licensing, PR, technical and other service agreements, charity and corporate partnerships. James has also line managed a team of legal and business affairs executives.

James Pugh's educational career began with a Bachelor of Arts in Archaeology and Classical Studies from the University of Kent. James continued their studies with a Master of Arts in Archaeology, also from the University of Kent.

Their manager is Dave Bishop, CEO. James Pugh works with Emma Kinnersley - Finance Director, Luane Gauer - Head of Acquisitions, and Mounia Wissinger - Head of Marketing, Distribution & Publicity.
