Hasif Toofanny

Hasif Toofanny is a seasoned engineer specializing in functional safety and systems engineering with a diverse background in the aerospace and defense sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Functional Safety & Systems Engineer at Protean Electric since October 2023, Hasif previously held key roles at Northrop Grumman, including Technical Lead for growth projects on the Royal Navy’s Type 45 Destroyers and Principal Systems Engineer for the Platform Management System on Astute class submarines. Earlier experience includes systems engineering positions at GE Aviation, where contributions spanned projects for the Airbus A320 family, the COMAC C919, and the Boeing 777X aircraft, as well as work with embedded systems for military and commercial applications at Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions and Ultra Electronics. Hasif holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace Systems Engineering from the University of Hertfordshire and additional education from the University of Oxford.
