Juan Pablo Espinosa

Juan Pablo Espinosa has a diverse work experience in the financial sector. Juan Pablo is currently the Chief Financial and Risk Officer at PROTECCIÓN S.A. Prior to this, they worked as an External Advisor to the Investment and Risk Committee at Sura. Juan Pablo also served as the Chair of the Economists Committee at Asobancaria.

In the academic field, Juan Pablo has been an Adjunct Lecturer at Universidad Externado de Colombia, Universidad de La Sabana, and Universidad EAFIT. Juan Pablo has taught various courses related to finance and investment management.

Juan Pablo has a significant tenure at Grupo Bancolombia, where they held multiple roles. Juan Pablo served as the Chief Economist and Head of Economic, Sectoral and Market Research, leading a team of experts in analyzing macroeconomic and financial trends. Juan Pablo was also the Head of Investment Strategy for a period of four years.

Earlier in their career, Juan Pablo worked as a Market Risk Manager at Grupo Bancolombia and as a Consultant for the World Bank's Financial Modernization Program for Bogotá at the SECRETARIA DISTRITAL DE HACIENDA DE BOGOTA. Juan Pablo started their career as an Analyst at the Ministerio de Hacienda y Crédito Público, specializing in foreign capital markets and risk management.

Juan Pablo Espinosa received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Finance and International Affairs from Universidad Externado de Colombia in 1997. In 2008, they also obtained an M.Sc. degree in Financial Economics from the University of Oxford.
