Protect Our Winters
Graham Zimmerman is a distinguished professional alpine climbing athlete and advocate for climate justice. As the Director of Athlete Alliances at Protect Our Winters since December 2019, Graham leads initiatives that empower athletes to engage in climate advocacy. In addition to this role, Graham serves as the founding Board Chair of Dirtroad Organizing, focusing on building rural community power. A notable athlete, Graham has earned significant accolades, including the 2020 Piolet d'Or and the 2016 AAC Cutting Edge Award, while representing brands like Outdoor Research and Edelrid USA. Past leadership experience includes serving as President of the American Alpine Club and co-founding Bedrock Film Works, where Graham directed content for prominent clients like Google and National Geographic. Educational achievements include a BSc in Physical Geography from the University of Otago and a certificate in storytelling and content strategy from the University of Washington.

Protect Our Winters
Protect Our Winters is the environmental center point of the winter sports community. Founded by pro snowboarder Jeremy Jones in 2007, we are united towards a common goal of reducing climate change's effects on our sport and local mountain communities. With over 140,000 supporters worldwide, POW re-invests public and private contributions into educational initiatives, advocacy and supporting community-based initiatives that have tangible results.
