Eric Peña has worked for four different companies over the past 28 years. In 1992, they began their career as a Special Agent for the U.S. Department of the Treasury. In 2002, they joined the U.S. Department of Justice, Criminal Division, and held four roles over the next 17 years, including Supervisory Special Agent - Baltimore Group I (Arson and Explosives), Senior Special Agent and Program Manager - International Affairs Division, Senior Special Agent and CFI Program Manager - Fire Research Laboratory, and Senior Special Agent - Certified Fire and Arson Investigator. In 2019, they became a Team Lead - Seized Property Investigator at 5 Stones intelligence Inc. Most recently, in 2020, they joined Protection Strategies Incorporated as a Team Lead - Investigative Analyst Consultant and a Team Lead - Personnel Security Specialist.

Eric Peña obtained a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Business Studies from St. Francis College between 1991 and 1992. Prior to that, they attended Farmingdale State College from 1988 to 1991, where they studied Aeronautics/Aviation/Aerospace Science and Technology, General. Eric also holds certifications as a Certified Fraud Examiner from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), obtained in 2018, a Certified Fire Investigator (CFI) from the International Association of Arson Investigators, obtained in June 2012, and National Incident Management Systems (NIMS), Incident Commander School (ICS) Training, NIMS ICS 300/400 from FEMA, obtained in 2010.
