Nafiul Islam

Nafiul Islam is a Senior Financial Projection Data Scientist at Protective Life, where responsibilities encompass the complete data science lifecycle, from business understanding to deployment, since February 2015. Previously, Nafiul served as a Research Assistant at Auburn University, focusing on predicting Erosivity changes related to climate models for the Southeast United States. Earlier experiences include an internship at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, LLC, specializing in Statistical Process Control, and a cooperative education position at Montgomery Water Works & Sanitary Sewer Board, where GIS, data entry, and civil plan review were key tasks. Nafiul also managed Peachtree Natural Foods, overseeing staff training, inventory management, financial benchmarks, and customer education. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science and a Master's degree in Biosystems Engineering, along with a minor in Sustainability Studies, all obtained from Auburn University.
