Mathew Seccombe CEng MIChemE

Mathew Seccombe CEng MIChemE has diverse work experience in engineering and event management. Mathew currently works as a Senior Engineer at Protium since March 2023. Prior to this, they worked at INEOS Grangemouth for several roles including Technical Support Engineer from September 2020 to March 2023, Graduate Process Engineer from July 2016 to September 2020, and Graduate Process Development Engineer from January 2016 to July 2016. Mathew also worked as a Graduate Process Engineer at INEOS Grangemouth from September 2014 to January 2016.

In addition to their engineering experience, Mathew has experience in event promotion and management. Mathew worked as a PBH Edinburgh Free Fringe Promoter at Genevieve Swallow in August 2012, successfully promoting and advertising a one-woman show. Mathew also worked as a PBH Edinburgh Free Fringe Technician at Susan Harrison in the same period.

Mathew gained valuable experience as a Student Intern at Diageo from June 2013 to December 2013 as part of their Masters in Chemical Engineering degree at The University of Edinburgh. Mathew completed a project analyzing water efficiency at single malt distilleries, resulting in the production of a comprehensive tool-kit containing a full distillery model and recommendations for reducing water usage. This tool-kit has been circulated industry-wide through the industry body, the SWA.

Lastly, Mathew worked as a Challenger World Marshal at IMG from 2010 to 2012, marshalling renowned outdoor sporting and mental challenge events for corporate teams. Mathew was unable to work in 2013 and 2014 due to other commitments.
