Product Applications Engineer at Protochips

Katherine Marusak, Ph.D. has a diverse background in materials science. Katherine began their career in 2009 as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at North Carolina State University, where they synthesized and oxidized Cobalt/Nickel alloy nanoparticles and studied their varying magnetic properties. In 2011, they worked as an EID Intern at GE Energy, where they created and implemented a Six Sigma project that restructured the equipment maintenance inventory process and streamlined preventative maintenance assignment distribution. From 2012 to 2018, they were a Postdoctoral Research Assistant and PhD Candidate at Duke University, studying the bacterial synthesis of CdS nanoparticles. Most recently, they have been a Product Applications Engineer at Protochips since 2018.

Katherine Marusak, Ph.D. received their Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from North Carolina State University in 2012. Katherine then went on to earn their Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science from Duke University in 2017.
