Douglas Francis possesses extensive experience in additive manufacturing, particularly within direct metal laser sintering and stereolithography. Currently serving as a Direct Metal Laser Sintering Technician at Protolabs since October 2015, Douglas operates and maintains DMLS equipment to produce high-quality prototypes. Prior to this role, significant contributions were made at BD as a Technician II and Additive Manufacturing Engineer, managing all aspects of stereolithography processes and delivering over forty thousand parts annually. Douglas also held supervisory positions at Protogenic Rapid Prototyping and Joel Wittkamp Design, overseeing shift operations and prototype fabrication. Early career experience includes editing and layout management for state law publications at Thomson Professional Printing and Publishing. Douglas holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and an Associate of Applied Science in Industrial Design from Rochester Institute of Technology.
