Prior to this, Corkie held managerial positions at Travelways from February 1997 to February 2000 and Sunburst Travel/Travel Store from 1985 to 1993, and served as Vice President at Byways of the World Travel from 1993 to 1997. Corkie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology with a focus on Cultural studies from California State University, Northridge, completed in 1977, and is a graduate of Culver City High School.
