Paul Richards

Chief Architect at Provar

Paul Richards has a diverse work experience spanning across multiple companies and roles. Paul started their career at Originative Solutions Ltd, where they founded and managed a company providing IT services to a wide range of clients. Following that, they worked at intY Ltd as an ICT Manager, responsible for the development and delivery of new products.

In 2004, Paul joined BT as a Contractor before moving on to Future Publishing, where they served as the Head of New Media Technology. In this role, they were responsible for the technology behind a portfolio of over 35 websites and managed a team of 20+ staff.

Paul then worked at the Office for National Statistics as the Head of Java and Web Technologies, followed by the role of Principal Architect. Paul later assumed the position of Software Architect and Development Lead at Monitise.

In 2015, Paul joined ADP as a Solutions Architect before transitioning to SmartStream Technologies, where they served as a Senior Technical Architect for four years. Currently, they are working at Provar Testing, first as a Cloud Architect and now as the Chief Architect.

Paul Richards holds a PhD in Neural Networks from Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd, which they obtained between 1990 and 1993. Prior to that, they completed an MSc in Systems Engineering, also at Cardiff University, from 1989 to 1990. Paul initially pursued their undergraduate studies at Cardiff University, obtaining a BSc in Computer Systems from 1986 to 1989. Additionally, Paul has obtained certifications in Software as a Service and Artificial Intelligence from edX in November 2012. Paul also holds a certification in TOGAF from The Open Group, although the specific month and year it was obtained is not provided.
