Executive Director, Clinical Science at Provention Bio

Rachel Garner has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over 27 years. Rachel is currently working as the Executive Director of Clinical Science at Provention Bio, a position they have held since August 2020. Prior to this, they worked for Complexa Inc. for three years as the Sr. Director of Clinical Development. From 2015 to 2017, they were a Program Manager and Principal Medical Writer at PPD. Rachel also served as the Senior Director of Translational Medicine at Cerecor Inc. from 2014 to 2015 and as the Director of Translational Medicine from 2012 to 2014. From 2011 to 2012, they worked as an Associate Director of Clinical Research at Questcor Pharmaceuticals, where they were involved in leading clinical research projects. Before that, Rachel held a position as the Director of Scientific Services at PAREXEL from 2003 to 2011, where they developed medical writing and pharmacokinetic functions. Rachel started their career at Guilford Pharmaceuticals Inc. as a Senior Clinical Research Scientist from 2001 to 2003. Rachel has also worked as a Senior Clinical Research Associate at Otsuka Pharmaceutical Companies and as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals. Rachel began their research career as a Research Assistant at the University of Maryland from 1993 to 1998, where they conducted studies on the virulence factor in Helicobacter pylori and authored several publications. Overall, Rachel Garner possesses a wealth of experience in clinical research, clinical development, medical writing, and translational medicine.

Rachel Garner completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Maryland from 1988 to 1992. Following that, they pursued further education and obtained a PharmD degree in Pharmacy from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy from 1994 to 1998.
